ARCA Menards Series

ARCA Menards Series

Late Model

The ARCA Menards Series is a stock car racing series in the United States, serving as a stepping stone to NASCAR. Founded in 1953 as the Midwest Association for Race Cars (MARCA), it was later renamed the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA). The series is known for its mix of veteran drivers and up-and-coming talent, competing on a variety of tracks, including superspeedways, short tracks, road courses, and dirt tracks. NASCAR acquired ARCA in 2018, further solidifying its role in driver development. The series has helped launch the careers of stars like Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, and Chase Briscoe. The Menards home improvement chain has been the title sponsor since 2019.

ASA Stars National Tour

ASA Stars National Tour

Super Late Model

Since the demise of the ASA National Tour in the early 2000’s, racers, fans, manufacturers, promoters and sports marketers have talked about the return of a national tour for pavement super late model racing. Regional tours, including the CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour have worked hard to fill the void, but industry insiders knew there was something missing. Enter Track Enterprises. Track Enterprises is an event marketing company which promotes auto races around America. The man that is responsible for this is Bob Sargent. In January of 2022, Track Enterprises announced the acquisition of the Champion Racing Association, including the ARCA / CRA Super Series, JEGS All-Stars Tour plus Late Model Sportsman and Street Stock Tours. In June, the company also reached an agreement to acquire the ARCA Midwest Tour, effective January 1, 2023. Finally, in September, Track Enterprises revealed it had reached a partnership with the Southern Super Series to operate the series under the CRA banner as of January, 2023. Sargent's vision behind this strategy for Track Enterprises – to stabilize and enhance the regional tours and organize a series of national events for pavement super late model racing.

CARS Late Model Stock Tour

CARS Late Model Stock Tour

Late Model Stock

Formed in the fall of 2014 by owner Jack McNelly, the CARS Tour was built out of the remnants of the former Pro Cup Series. The CARS sanctioning body, continuing a desire to create a viable option for quality pavement racing throughout the Carolinas and beyond, formed the dual division CARS Tour. Featuring both super late models and late model stock cars competing on the same night at the same track, the CARS Tour is the first series of its kind to host two premier divisions under the same banner, at the same track and as part of the same event. Born in the Carolinas, Late Model Stock Cars have been the premier car raced at local and regional tracks in the Mid-Atlantic for decades. Today, the purpose-built racers weigh in around 3100 lbs. and utilize both factory-designed crate and custom-built racing engines. The power plants produce over 400 horsepower underneath a fiberglass body built to withstand the rigors of short track racing without the weight of stock body panels. The machines stop by using the same stock-style GM brake calipers found on many passenger cars today. These race cars carry a huge following of both fans and drivers alike.

Featuring both pro late models and late model stock cars competing on the same night at the same track, the CARS Tour is the first series of its kind to host two premier divisions under the same banner, at the same track and as part of the same event. The Super Late Model division, which was a part of the CARS Tour since its inception back in 2015, is replaced by a Pro Late Model series in 2022 that will run alongside Late Model Stocks for most of the season. The primary difference between the Super Late Models and Pro Late Models is the crate engine utilized by the latter. The Pro Late Model Tour follows similar rules to the CRA Series, Southern Super Series and those used by Montgomery Motor Speedway.

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour

NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour

Asphalt Modified

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is one of the oldest and most iconic divisions in NASCAR, dating back to 1985 as the modern-era tour—but its roots stretch all the way to the 1940s, when Modifieds were the original cars NASCAR was built on. Known for their low-slung bodies, open wheels, huge tires, and big horsepower, Modifieds produce some of the most intense, close-quarters racing anywhere. The tour primarily competes at short tracks across the Northeast, honoring decades of tradition at places like Thompson, Stafford, and Riverhead. It remains a fan-favorite series thanks to its toughness, rivalries, and grassroots connection to NASCAR’s earliest days.

Thunder On the Hill Racing Series

Thunder On the Hill Racing Series

In 2023, Thunder on the Hill will kick off its 34th season having completed One-hundred-and-forty-nine events and distributing over $5.3 million dollars to competitors in a variety of divisions, making Thunder on the Hill one of the most lucrative and diverse special event programs in the country. To commemorate this historic milestone, Thunder on the Hill and Grandview Speedway along with series partners, teams, drivers, and fans will join together in a season-long celebration to mark the success of this wildly popular series that will include cornerstone Thunder events, as well as, added bonuses and surprises. “Way back in 1990, Dave Kelly along with Bruce Rogers and myself, laid a foundation that today supports some of the region’s most prominent auto racing events,” said Series Promoter Bob Miller. “The story of Thunder on the Hill over the past three decades is fascinating, and one that I relish the opportunity to share. It’s also a story that wouldn’t be complete without the support of our loyal racing fans. “We have secured many of our past and successful events and have a few more surprises up our sleeves for the 2023 season.” Thunder on the Hill is pleased to announce that key sponsors like NAPA Auto Parts, Levan Machine & Truck Equipment, Pioneer Pole Buildings and GT Radiators will be returning to be a part of the wildly popular racing series. The idea for Thunder on the Hill dates back to 1990 when URC Champion Dave Kelly approached well-known racing publicist and official Bob Miller, with an idea to promote an open cockpit 410 Sprint Car event. Miller and Kelly’s conversations would lead to a meeting with Grandview Speedway owners Bruce and Theresa Rogers, who could bring the final piece to the puzzle, the perfect facility for such an event. Steve Smith takes the checkered flag in the Inaugural Thunder on the Hill Event in August of 1990 (Photo Courtesy of Area Auto Racing News) With everything in place, their attention quickly turned to making the event a success. With Grandview’s tight, tricky, and often wicked 1/3 mile oval providing the battlegrounds, there was some question if the central Pennsylvania sprint drivers would support the show. Kelly assured everyone that an attractive purse would be the key to bringing the sprint cars to Grandview Speedway. After digging deep into his pockets to post a healthy purse, Bob Miller needed to bring his dedication to the table and make sure that the fans would fill the Grandview bleachers. Miller was insistent that the event should have a name to separate it from the rest. “Thunder” would appropriately describe the sound of sprint car engines, but how could they include Grandview, the hosting track that sits “on the hill” in Bechtelsville, PA in the event’s name – and at that time, Thunder on the Hill was born. The inaugural Thunder on the Hill events, in 1990, were a huge success. Capacity crowds came out to see Central Pennsylvania’s best drivers pilot their big-wing sprints around Grandview Speedway. With Grandview’s seating so close to the action, it’s impossible to leave without hoping that the next Thunder on the Hill event is just around the corner. The Rogers and Miller families celebrate the 100th Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event. From 1990 through October 2022, Thunder on the Hill has presented a total of 149 events that paid out over $5.3 million dollars. From the 410 sprints to the World of Outlaws, All Stars, CRA, SCRA and USAC Wingless Sprints, URC Sprints, KARS Sprints, ROC Modifieds, DIRTCar Modifieds, Sportsman, Legends, Late Models, NASCAR Modifieds, World of Outlaws Late Models, ARDC Midgets and Mini-Sprints, Thunder on the Hill has expanded to offer plenty of variety for every race fan. Special events included the 5-25’s, The Roaring Triple 20’s, the Modified Traffic Jam, The Jesse Hockett Classic, The King of Hill, The Hodnett Cup, The Ken Brenn USAC Midget Classic and the Modified 40 lap Invert Race. You can always expect something new and different. Thunder on the Hill will present its’ 34th season in 2022, with a continued effort of making a difference to pleasing the all-important race fans and competitors. Be sure to provide your thoughts and opinions since they are a very important step in building future Thunder on the Hill racing events. The 2023 Thunder on the Hill Racing Series will continue to remember co-founder and Grandview Speedway track owner, Bruce Rogers. In early 2017, Bruce passed away but he will always be remembered at each and every Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event. “Bruce was a fair and honest person and without a doubt, one of the influential people in my life. Honesty, integrity, and confidence are the key assets I’ve seen in Bruce Rogers, a friend first and my partner in Thunder on the Hill, second. We dedicate the Thunder Series to the memory of Bruce Rogers,” said Bob Miller, Thunder on the Hill Co-Promoter.
